Star Stories: Re:Minds

Re:Minds is one of our shining stars in our winter round of Stars for Stars awards.

It received our starry accolade for its compassionate, community-centred support of families navigating neurodiversity and mental health challenges.

Deputy CEO at Re:Minds, Angi Carey says: “We’re delighted to have been nominated. After a decade of providing peer-led services and support for families across Southampton, this recognition means a great deal to us. We are deeply grateful to whoever put our name forward.”

Strong positive impact

Their nomination emphasised the strong positive impact on mental wellbeing Re:Minds has. The nominator highlighted how the organisation’s support plays an important role in helping families feel heard, understood and empowered.

They noted that Re:Minds’ work directly contributes to improved wellbeing within our community by offering accessible guidance, shared learning and a compassionate atmosphere – qualities that are often difficult to find when navigating complex support systems.

Long-standing commitment

Our award reflects the organisation’s long-standing commitment to creating safe, understanding spaces for those who often struggle to find adequate support elsewhere.

Re:Minds is known for its peer-led approach, offering practical guidance, emotional reassurance and a sense of solidarity to families across Southampton. For 10 years, it has been a vital lifeline for parents and carers of children with neurodiverse profiles or mental health needs, providing connection, shared experience and hope.

Embodies our mission

This recognition reflects the heart of the Stars for Stars initiative, which celebrates individuals and organisations who champion good mental health and create places where people feel safe, welcome and supported. Re:Minds embodies our mission through every conversation, workshop and peer-support session it offers.
