Surviving Economic Abuse Training
Surviving Economic Abuse offers training on economic abuse focused on building the capacity of frontline organisations to recognise economic abuse, advocate effectively for economic safety and address the systems issues that facilitate ongoing control by an abuser.
Recognising and responding to economic abuse is aimed at a wide audience and SEA have delivered the training to professionals and volunteers from domestic abuse charities, money/debt advice services, local and government authorities, the police, solicitors, the housing sector, major high-street banks and many more.
It is suitable for anyone who may encounter economic abuse or support victim-survivors in their role.
The main objective of the training is to raise awareness and understanding of economic abuse and provide an opportunity for learners to consider how they can contribute to the economic safety of victims /survivors. A full list of the learning objectives and more detail about the training can be found here. The half day online training is interactive with activities and opportunity for group discussion to promote shared learning and experience.
Surviving Economic Abuse can train up to 16 participants per course on Teams or Zoom. SCC are looking to fund one opportunity for this 4-hour workshop for 16 representatives from within the voluntary sector in Southampton.
